Masakazu Ishikawa Strokes 3 Home Runs Wednesday, June 25th, 2031 Temple Goers catcher Masakazu Ishikawa sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a litte. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Atlantic City Enforcers, Ishikawa told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Ishikawa pushed the Goers past the Enforcers, 14-8. To go along with the homers, he collected 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Ishikawa told reporters after the game. Masakazu Ishikawa hit a solo-shot off Kyuso Kimura in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Gohta Yamashiro in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ted Thian in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Looking at his present stats, Ishikawa has compiled a .007 batting average in 70 games with a .402 on-base percentage, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 45 runs. |
