García Retires, May Test Political Waters
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2032
Bombers left fielder Octávio García announced today that he is retiring from baseball. What he does next is still anyone's guess. The popular García has been rumored to be considering a run for political office, namely congressman. "He hasn't told me what his plans are," said Bronx manager Weston Papenfuss. "I know he has an interest in politics, but he hasn't tipped his hand yet, either way." Asked whether he thought García was qualified to hold public office, "Papenfuss replied, "Definitely. I think he'd be a great congressman. He has exactly the kind of leadership skills this country needs." Associates say García will make a decision on his future in the next few weeks.
