Hot Bat Cooled, Osburn Hitless Against Cats Tuesday, August 10th, 2032 Vancouver Canadians catcher Steve Osburn and his hot bat finally met their match today at LaGrave Field. The Fort Worth Cats snapped his 21-game hitting string, holding Osburn hitless in 4 at-bats and also whipping Vancouver for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Cats manager Lowell Wise said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Vancouver makes it even sweeter." This year Osburn has hit 7 home runs and posted a .296 batting average. |
