Rice Smacks 3 Out of the Park Friday, August 6th, 2032 Today was a special one for Paul Rice of the Bowling Green Racers as he slammed three home runs in the 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canadians. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Bowling Green first baseman collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 4, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Top of the Hill. Paul Rice hit a solo-shot off Yoshiaki Kojima in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Yoshiaki Kojima in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Mike Bunch in the 7th. So far this season Rice is hitting .309 with 17 home runs, 51 RBIs and 52 runs scored. He has 95 hits in 307 at-bats and a .384 OBP. |
