Death Stars Kawamura and Fireballs Lucero Suspended for Fight
Sunday, July 18th, 2032
Baseball confrontations occasionally get intense and sometimes that tension becomes too much and boils over into more than just words. This time it happened to Detroit's Takanobu Kawamura and Joplin's Juan Lucero. The two were the main participants in a fight that cleared the benches. Today both were suspended by the league for 2 games for their aggressive actions.

"I hope things settle down now," the manager of the Fireballs said later. "There's no reason for us to be locked in a cycle of revenge. We all need to focus on baseball instead."

This season Kawamura is swinging the bat at a .195 rate with 24 hits in 123 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 11 runs and driven in 13.

This season Lucero has a 3-1 mark in 7 starts with a 3.24 ERA. He has given up 34 hits in 41.2 innings, struck out 34 and issued 13 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .218 batting average against him.
