Yamamoto Bags NAL Best Player Award

22-year-old Monzaemon Yamamoto made a few Scranton headlines during this past week as the rookie second baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Nick Adenhart League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 12 hits in 25 at-bats to put up a .480 average. Yamamoto collected 1 home run, 6 RBIs and scored 7 runs.
Yamamoto is hitting .288 this year with 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .377, 44 walks and scored 49 times.
