Ortíz Bashes 5 Base Hits
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2032
It seemed that Canton first baseman Jesús Ortíz could do no wrong as the Paczkis KO'd the Titans, 9-5 today. Ortíz rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches Titans hurlers were throwing.
"I think the Paczkis were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Chicago fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Ortíz in the postgame press interview.
Jesús Ortíz singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Nobuharu Fujita in the 9th, was hit by a pitch in the 11th and hit a two-run home run off Robert Limby in the 12th.
For the year Ortíz is batting .260 with 72 hits and 20 home runs. He has scored 41 times and driven in 59.
