Catterall Sizzles -- Smokes Caterpillars for 5 Hits
Wednesday, June 16th, 2032
After a 5-hit effort to lead Detroit's 8-7 victory over the Peoria Caterpillars, catcher Morgan Catterall told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the TRIPLE A-level is really something special."
The 25-year-old player earned his accolades today at The Death Star with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Caterpillars.
"His swing is getting there," said Death Stars skipper David Parker, who spoke glowingly of Catterall after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Morgan did that to perfection today."
Morgan Catterall singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 10th and walked in the 12th.
In 54 games this season Catterall is batting .270 with 41 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 22 runs and driven in 14.
