Red-Hot Fernández Scorches Fireballs
Wednesday, June 9th, 2032
The Joplin Fireballs might think twice next time about pitching to Raúl Fernández.
At The Firepit today, the Detroit Death Stars third baseman burned Joplin pitching, going 5-for-5 in a 5-3 Detroit triumph.
"When he's on his game," Detroit skipper David Parker told reporters, "he can probably stroke a base hit blindfolded."
Raúl Fernández singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 22 games this year Fernández has posted a .416 average and put up these numbers: 8 home runs, 23 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
