Kakuta Batters Indian Wells Big Time
Tuesday, May 25th, 2032
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Shinji Kakuta today -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Stars Field, but the performance lost a little luster when the Death Stars were downed 6-5 by the Indian Wells Aeropostales.
After his glittering performance, the Detroit first baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat."
His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
"I just wish we had added a win in the record book today, too," Kakuta said.
Shinji Kakuta doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
So far this year in 39 games Kakuta is hitting .295 with 5 home runs, 24 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
