Hot Bat Cooled, Rodríguez Hitless Against Cacti
Wednesday, May 19th, 2032
It was the best of both worlds for the Albuquerque Cacti today at Stars Field, as they defeated the Indian Wells Aeropostales 7-2 and also snapped Wilson Rodríguez's 21-game hitting streak. The 25-year-old Indian Wells left fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats.

"Nothing personal against Rodríguez, we just wanted to win the game," said Cacti skipper Lou Hampton. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing."

When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Rodríguez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won."

So far this season Rodríguez has 9 home runs and a .349 batting average.
