Injury Sidelines Wayne Dougherty For Year
Tuesday, April 27th, 2032
The doctors have spoken and Wayne Dougherty of the Billings Mustangs didn't like what he heard. The 34-year-old center fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Dougherty sustained his season-ending injury during the Fairfield Flash game yesterday at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Billings medical staff reported Dougherty had a torn posterior cruciate ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 6-7 months.

For the year Dougherty has hit .333 with no home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs.
