Bungay's Hit Streak Over Saturday, April 10th, 2032 Jim Bungay saw his 22-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Minneapolis Freeze win over Omaha at The Ice Box. The 23-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 5 at-bats by the Omaha Raptors, but his teammates produced enough offense to take the game, 8-2. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Bungay told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 22 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Thus far this year Bungay is hitting .368 with 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. |
