Fairfield's Meyer Suspended Wednesday, September 24th, 2031 "Deplorable conduct will not be tolerated in this league, especially if it is directed toward our umpires." That was the gist of the league commissioner's notification letter to the Fairfield Flash organization advising them that shortstop Kevin Meyer had been suspended for 2 games for his heated confrontation with the home plate umpire in yesterday's game with Chicago. He became furious over a called third strike. Thus far this season in 92 games Meyer is batting .268 with 3 home runs, 31 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 66 hits in 246 at-bats. |
