Majana Batters Acapulco for 5 Hits
Sunday, July 13th, 2031
A jubilant Augusto Majana joined the postgame press conference at Underdogs Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Acapulco Banditos pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Silver Lake Baristas right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led the Baristas to a 11-9 win.
"He made it look easy," said Juan Carlos Serrano, manager of the Banditos. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Augusto Majana hit a three-run home run off Jason Walker in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Majana is hitting .256 with 6 home runs.
