Rehab Road Tough For Islanders Greg Ward
Tuesday, October 19th, 2032
Greg Ward is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Islanders sent the 31-year-old reliever back to the doctors for reexamination. Ward told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Ward will now miss a minimum of 14-15 months.
Greg Ward is expected to undergo surgery in Honolulu(Hawaii) tomorrow.
This season Ward has made 18 relief appearances, recorded no saves and compiled a 2-1 won-lost mark and a 4.45 ERA. In pitching 30.1 innings, he has totaled 17 strikeouts and 4 walks.
