Stogies Star Hardy Dominates RCL, Takes Triple Crown Friday, October 8th, 2032 What a season Joe Hardy had this year. The ace of the Havana Stogies led the Roberto Clemente League in all the major pitching categories. He ranked first in wins, ERA and strikeouts to capture the Pitching Triple Crown. In his epic season the talented Hardy finished with an outstanding 25-2 won-loss record, a 1.31 ERA and 271 strikeouts to top all other pitchers and put himself in line for the prestigious Cy Young Award. "I hadn't thought much about the triple crown," confessed Hardy. "I just go out and throw the ball. That's all there is to it. All I want to lead the league in is wins." His manager told BNN, "Joe makes my job easier. I rest easy knowing he is penciled in to start. He just goes out there to dominate the hitters. He doesn't like them. I don't think he ever met a batter he liked. We don't even let him throw batting practice." |
