Portland's Adkins Sidelined for Season Friday, September 17th, 2032 The Portland Beavers will be minus Jake Adkins for about 8 months after the starting pitcher suffered radial nerve compression while throwing a pitch in a recent game against the New York Mafia. Adkins and Beavers skipper Ryan Blandford had been hoping the post-game examination would show less damage than originally thought. Adkins has made 10 starts so far this year and put up a 5-5 won-lost record with a 4.73 ERA. In 83.2 innings he has allowed 97 hits, walked 39 and struck out 43. |
