Monday, July 26th, 2032
Armando Chavez, starting pitcher of the Kansas City Tornadoes, has received a 80-game suspension from the league for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance in violation of the sport's drug prevention and treatment program.
Chavez, in a statement, said any use of banned substances was for medical reasons.
"I want to make it known that I did not use any banned substances in order to gain a competitive advantage," Chavez said. "I took substances that were prescribed for me by a doctor."
In the statement, Chavez said he stopped taking the prescribed substances once he was healed of the ailment.
