Rehab Road Tough For Hops Nadir Rizvi
Thursday, July 22nd, 2032
All is not well with Nadir Rizvi in his recovery from a strained oblique.
The 32-year-old Hops left fielder has already reached some significant steps in his rehabilitation, but his manager said that the team will continue to be cautious with Rizvi and take his progression one day at a time, especially after the setback yesterday.
"Yesterday he was feeling good but he didn't do a lot on the field," he said. "Today he was supposed to be on the field doing light stuff and then gradually start working right back up. I think he overdid it."
A post-workout examination revealed that Rizvi had re-injured himself and would now miss at least 2-3 weeks because of it.
Rizvi has a .299 average and a .372 on-base percentage for the year. He has picked up 78 hits, 16 home runs and driven in 55 runs.
