Rocchi Gets 300th Save, Shuts Down Aces 2-1
Tuesday, June 29th, 2032
Once again Bernalldo Rocchi took the mound for Georgia with the game on the line, a scenario that has played out hundreds of times for the Grays and their top reliever. And like he has several hundred times before, Rocchi closed out the victory over the Columbus Aces. This save, however, was a bit more special than most -- it was his 300th career save. The 29-year-old bullpen specialist shut down Columbus on no runs and 1 hit, while working 1 innings in the 2-1 win at The Death Star.

"Early in my career, 300 saves was the only goal I had -- if I could be around long enough to get it," Rocchi said. "I thought to myself, if I could get 300, I'd feel like I'd accomplished something."

To date in his career Rocchi has saved 300 games with a 48-49 mark and a 3.92 ERA.
