Day-to-Day Injury Shelves McLaughlin
Sunday, June 13th, 2032
The topic du jour around Columbus is whether Robert McLaughlin of the Aces will suit up for today's contest. He was injured yesterday against the Jacks while throwing a pitch. The standout 31-year-old reliever has a strained abdominal muscle and didn't rule out playing, but did say that if pain persisted, he would not risk further injury.

"Robert will play if he can," said the team doctor. "He hasn't got a major injury, but at the same time, we need to monitor the situation and protect him as much as possible."

To date in the season, McLaughlin is 1-1 with 14 relief appearances and 1 save. He has held opposing batters to a .182 average, pitched 15.2 innings, struck out 15 and walked 4 while recording a 1.72 ERA.
