So Cal's Au to Miss 5 Weeks Tuesday, June 1st, 2032 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Pin-zhen Au of the Republic knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Portland Beavers while throwing a pitch. Because of shoulder inflammation, the So Cal closer is expected to miss 5 weeks. Au was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." To date, Au has 13 saves. In 24 relief appearances he has tossed 22.1 innings, fanned 29 and given up 11 walks with 3 wins and 3 losses. The So Cal reliever has recorded a 2.42 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .207 when he on the mound. |
