Pioneers Verity Suffers Injury Wednesday, May 19th, 2032 It took the Vancouver team doctor a while to realize it, but third baseman Ron Verity won't simply play through a torn ligament in his thumb after he got hurt colliding with a player at a base in today's Bombers-Pioneers game. At first, it looked like Verity might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 weeks. Verity has collected 44 hits for the Pioneers this year, 5 of them home runs. He has also netted 20 RBIs and scored 19 runs while batting .272. |
