Hayagawa for Fitzgerald in Big Deal
Friday, December 12th, 2031
There was some serious wheeling and dealing today in Columbus and South Carolina. Finally, a major deal has been ironed out that will send 20-year-old minor league RHP Danny Zafra and 33-year-old RHP Sotatsu Hayagawa to the Bombers, while the Aces will receive 29-year-old 2B Michael Fitzgerald, 30-year-old SS Edwin Pratt, 35-year-old RHP Max Grant, 29-year-old LHP Chris Riddle and 19-year-old minor league LF Matt Miller. It had long been rumored that both clubs were looking to deal, but it seemed the two sides had reached an impasse and put a halt to the deal. Then suddenly it all came together at the last minute. All players involved in the trade are expected to make immediate impacts on their new clubs. Most baseball analysts thought it was a good deal for both clubs.
Lifetime Hayagawa has registered a 107-77 record with a 4.18 ERA.
In his career stats Fitzgerald has compiled a .309 batting average and collected 731 hits, 114 home runs and 378 RBIs.
