League Suspends Drader and Sheffield for Fisticuffs Friday, October 3rd, 2031 Yesterday at The Death Star Gilbert Drader and Pat Sheffield got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Georgia Grays and Eureka Hornets. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified both ballclubs that Drader and Sheffield would be given 2-game suspensions for fighting. So far this season Drader has put up a .278 batting average with 20 hits, no home runs and 4 RBIs. Checking out his stats for the season, Sheffield has notched 13 wins and 9 losses in 32 starts, 4.20 ERA and struck out 182 batters in 201.1 innings. |
