Season-Ending Injury for Juan Villa
Wednesday, September 24th, 2031
The doctors have spoken and Juan Villa of the Jacksonville Jacks didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old first baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Villa sustained his season-ending injury during the Hawaii Islanders game yesterday at Aloha Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Jacksonville medical staff reported Villa had a strained lat and would be absent from the lineup for at least 5 weeks.
Villa is batting .286 this season in 71 games with 14 home runs, 43 RBIs and 28 runs scored. He has 74 hits in 259 at-bats.
