Yamasaki Reaches 2000 Sunday, September 7th, 2031 It was a day of mixed emotions for South Carolina center fielder Kiyonobu Yamasaki, who collected his 2000th hit in the club's 2-1 loss to Eureka. Bombers and Hornets fans alike cheered Yamasaki as he reached base after his milestone hit. "I wish the score had been different," Yamasaki said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special... even the fans wearing Hornets caps were cheering me." Yamasaki was 1-for-3 on the day.
