Bad News for Earthquakes, Ríos Injured
Thursday, August 28th, 2031
The San Francisco Earthquakes learned that Pablo Ríos is likely to be out for one week after he injured himself throwing the ball in today's game against the South Carolina Bombers. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a mild shoulder strain. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the San Francisco manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Pablo is back in action."
Thus far this year Ríos is hitting .319 with 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
