Marauders Pitching Ravaged by Kogawa
Friday, August 1st, 2031
The Georgia Grays stopped the Maple Marauders by a score of 13-9 at Legends Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Tokutomi Kogawa. The 32-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Kogawa said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Kogawa did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Marauders.
"Not much that I can say," offered Maple manager Jesús Alfaro. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Tokutomi Kogawa hit a three-run home run off Héctor Zúñiga in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
This year Kogawa has batted at a .290 pace with 42 hits, 6 home runs, 29 RBIs and scored 23 times.
