Blockbuster Deal: Planter for Jurgens Thursday, July 31st, 2031 The I's still need to be dotted and the T's crossed, but the Bloomington Blazers and Jacksonville Jacks have agreed to a trade. Bloomington will receive 29-year-old RHP Loeck Jurgens, while Jacksonville gets 24-year-old RF Harold Planter, 35-year-old RHP Walt Lawson, 25-year-old minor league 1B Jorge Rodríguez, 20-year-old minor league 3B Ricardo Rivadeneyra and 20-year-old minor league RHP Ken Ducklow in the swap. BNN first reported word of this trade two days ago, but at the time the Blazers general manager called it "nothing more than a rumor." The rumor has now been confirmed. The players are expected to join their new clubs shortly. During the current season Planter is batting at a .297 clip with 20 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 78 games and scored 57 times. To this point in the season Jurgens has 8 wins and 5 losses and a 4.05 ERA. |
