Stogies, Jacks Make Trade Thursday, July 31st, 2031 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Havana and Jacksonville have made a swap with 22-year-old RHP Jin-oh Pak, 18-year-old RHP Alex Rosario, 23-year-old LHP Kichibei Endo and $2,000,000 in cash being shipped to the Jacks and in return the Stogies would get 34-year-old LHP Ed Armstrong. The Jacksonville general manager said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Havana organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Armstrong has made 41 games so far this year with 21 saves. In 50 innings he has dished out 57 strikeouts and walked 18 with a 2-2 mark and a 1.80 ERA. |
