Cassidy's Season Could be Over
Sunday, July 27th, 2031
The doctors have spoken and Tom Cassidy of the San Diego Hops didn't like what he heard. The 34-year-old left fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Cassidy sustained his season-ending injury during the Cabo San Lucas Toreros game yesterday at Field de Los Layendas. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while making a defensive play. Today the San Diego medical staff reported Cassidy had a ruptured disc and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.

For the year Cassidy has hit at a .267 clip with 55 RBIs, 16 home runs and 55 runs scored.
