Aces Rivera Lost for Year Tuesday, July 8th, 2031 The doctors have spoken and Rubén Rivera of the Columbus Aces didn't like what he heard. The 27-year-old shortstop is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Rivera sustained his season-ending injury during the New York Mafia game yesterday at Don Corleone Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Columbus medical staff reported Rivera had a torn posterior cruciate ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8-9 months. This year Rivera has no home runs and a .234 batting average. |
