Cain Leads Patriots to Win
|
The George Washington Patriots downed the Carl Albert Titans, 10-4, at Osprey Ballpark. The Patriots were led by Ryan Cain, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 runs. Ryan Mapel, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 2-3. Mike Griffith was credited with the save for George Washington, his 1st of the season.
Justin Porter had a chance to do some damage in the top of the sixth. With Carl Albert trailing 7-1, Carl Albert had the bases loaded. Porter hit a run-scoring single. But it was not enough for Carl Albert to finish the comeback.
George Washington currently is in 5th place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division at 21-23.
