Lions Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Mustangs
The Lerna Lions picked up a win at Ballpark of Ecatepec HS, knocking off the San Marin Mustangs, 4-3. Starting pitcher Dean Woodworth was an essential part of his team's success. Lerna reliever Dusty Bynum picked up the win, upping his record to 1-3. Kelly Ransom shouldered the loss. The losing skid has reached 7 games for San Marin.

Rodney Killy came up big for Lerna in a pressure situation. In the bottom of the eighth, the 17-year-old left fielder hit a 2-run single, putting the Lions on top, 4-3.

"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said San Marin manager Marcus Piscitelli. "You need to let the game come to you."
