Blues Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The inspired effort of Montreal first baseman Adam Clifton was not enough to prevent a 6-5 loss to the Central Tech Blues. Clifton went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Montreal, at 21-22, has lost 4 straight.
Bruce Bucco dealt the Cardinals a crippling blow in the bottom of the tenth. With the game tied and the bases empty, he hit a walk-off solo home run. The longball gave Central Tech the lead, 6-5. Montreal pitcher Jonathan Hocker could only shake his head in disbelief.
"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Bucco.
