Bolten Helps Lancers Beat Warhawks
|
Lancers right fielder Gabriel Bolten put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Seminole Warhawks. Bolten was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for Canby in the contest. Brandon Bullis was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 9 hits, with 4 walks and 11 strikeouts. Andy Fitzpatrick earned the save, his 11th, for the Lancers.
When the Lancers needed a boost, it was the light-hitting Bolten who delivered. Facing Seminole pitcher Michael Spriggs the top of the seventh with a runner on 2nd, Bolten hit his 6th home run of the year. It made the score 5-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Bolten, "and today was a good one for us."
The Lancers raised their record to 23-19.
