Mustangs Topple Tigers with Late Rally
|
The Downsview Mustangs turned back the Tenafly Tigers, 6-5, at Visigoths Stadium. Dallas Lingo was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Downsview reliever Wade Knuth picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Hudson Dewar shouldered the loss. Downsview is 5th in the Pete Rose League Alex Rodriguez Division with a record of 18-21.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Lingo. Facing George Hall with runners on 1st and 2nd, the Downsview shortstop had a run-scoring single. Game over, walk-off style!
"This place was rocking at the end," Lingo said.
