Though he had a great game, John Hayes could not single-handedly produce a win for Tioga Central. Downsview won the game, 4-2. Hayes was named the player of the game. He went 2-2 with a double and 2 walks. Downsview reliever Wyatt Davis was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Ricky Hartman took the loss for Tioga Central. Earning his 5th save for Downsview was Bill Perales.
Sebastian Swain had a clutch at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for the Mustangs. Coming up with the bases loaded and Downsview trailing 2-1, he hit a 2-run single.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Downsview manager Ralph Prince.
The Tigers have now dropped 5 straight.
