Panthers Suffer 10-7 Loss to Cardinals
|
Pleasantville got a terrific performance from designated hitter Bruce Allison, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kearny High Cardinals. Kearny High won the Stealth Ballpark contest, 10-7. Allison was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Josh Brolin was credited with the save for Kearny High, his 8th of the season. With the win, Kearny High has a record of 15-22. Pleasantville falls to 20-17.
With two out in the top of the fifth, Jason Kennedy hit a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 41st hit of the season and with it the Cardinals took a 5-4 lead.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Kennedy.
