Poly Go Down to Defeat, 6-4
|
Behind a solid performance from shortstop Stephen Todino, the San Marin Mustangs defeated the Riverside Poly, 6-4. Todino was 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Mustangs. Reliever Kelly Ransom picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Swanson took the loss. The Mustangs saw their win-loss record go to 19-18. At the same time, the Poly fell to 26-11.
Jeff Rowan had a go-ahead single for San Marin in the bottom of the sixth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the 16-year old center fielder hit a run-scoring single off Josh Swanson. His 40th hit of the season made the score 5-4.
"There's a lot of fight left in this team," said Rowan.
