Bursey, Titans Clobber Blues
|
The Carl Albert Titans had no problem beating the Central Tech Blues, 11-2, at Zebras Ballpark. Walt Bursey led the way. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for Carl Albert. The win was credited to Jon McCoy in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Steve Steenburg took the loss. The losses continue to mount for Central Tech, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
One significant plate appearance for Carl Albert came with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning. Titans first baseman Armando Flores hit a 2-run single, which helped Carl Albert go on to win.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Central Tech manager Yassin Flament. "We got flat-out beat."
