Jefferson starter Kyle Simon had a strong outing against the Grand Island Islanders at Ballpark of Morelia HS. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. The Indians' win now puts them at 19-17.

The Indians got a big boost from designated hitter Gil Partin who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning off Islanders hurler Bill Burton. It was his 26th RBI of the season and put Jefferson on top, 3-2.

"Good win for us," said Simon. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
