Wilson Helps Mustangs Run Win Streak to 4
Breakers Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Downsview Mustangs and the Topeka West Chargers.

The Downsview Mustangs did just enough to secure a 7-6 victory over the Topeka West Chargers at Breakers Ballpark. Nobody did more than second baseman Justin Wilson, who captured player of the game honors. Downsview reliever Manny Rodriguez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Josh Alcorn absorbed the loss. Earning his 5th save for Downsview was Wade Knuth.

Wilson turned the game around in the top of the eighth. Facing Don Philpott, the Downsview second baseman rapped a 2-run single. Suddenly, the 6-5 Downsview deficit turned into a 7-6 lead.

Mustangs manager Ralph Prince wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."

Downsview has a 4-game win streak, while Topeka West has lost 3 in a row.
