Prowlers Beat Tornadoes, 6-1
|
The Oklahoma City Prowlers picked up a win at Memorial Circle Park, knocking off the Kansas City Tornadoes, 6-1. Starting pitcher Lewis Portsmouth played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Portsmouth, now 5-5. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. Oklahoma City is now 31-54. Kansas City is 32-52.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Alan Markham contributed a big hit for the Prowlers. With Oklahoma City leading 3-1, he hammered a 3-run home run.
"I had a good game," said Markham. "Winning makes it even better."
