The San Marin Mustangs eked out a 10-9 win versus the Grand Island Islanders at Ballpark of Morelia HS. Nobody did more than catcher Tyler Eckel, who captured player of the game honors. Jake Reynolds nailed down his 7th save. San Marin occupies third place in the Hank Aaron League Willie Mays Division at 17-17.

In the top of the 8th, first baseman Alex Resendez gave San Marin the lead when he hit a grand slam home run. The Mustangs had been trailing 7-5, but the two-out home run off Grand Island pitcher Bobby Kimble changed that -- and San Marin went on to win.

"What a game," said Resendez. "We needed every last run."
