Tigers Fall to .500 After Loss to Lancers
|
Benefiting from Bryce Pope's productive game, the Canby Lancers downed the Tenafly Tigers, 9-5. Pope was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Lancers. At 19-13, Canby is in second place in the Pete Rose League Roger Clemens Division.
Canby second baseman Brian Griffith helped the Lancers to the win. In the bottom of the second inning, the 16-year old second baseman stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Griffith went 1-3. He scored 2 runs.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Griffith.
