Patriots Lose to Mustangs in Walk Off
|
The Downsview Mustangs beat the George Washington Patriots, 7-6 at Visigoths Stadium, in part due to designated hitter Bobby Petersen, who nabbed player of the game honors. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The Mustangs saw their win-loss record go to 12-20. At the same time, the Patriots fell to 11-21.
Downsview shortstop Jeremy Davis had a game-changing at-bat in the bottom of the ninth. On a fastball from Ryan Hatch, he launched a solo home run. It gave Downsview a 7-6 lead.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Petersen. "Maybe this win will help."
