Skip Clayton had a good game, but he could not keep the New York Mafia from falling, 5-3, to the Jacksonville Jacks at Skellington Stadium. The New York left fielder was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. John Faivre got the win, improving to 6-7. He worked 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. At 33-48, the Jacks are currently 5th in the Roberto Clemente League William Atteberry Division.

Jacksonville grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and a runner on 2nd, George Soucy delivered a run-scoring double, to make it 4-3 in favor of the Jacks.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Soucy told reporters after the game.
